Our Lady Of Grace Jewelry and Collectables
Our Lady of Grace is the name of the vision of the Virgin Mary had by St. Catherine Labouré which led to the Miraculous Medal. The Blessed Mother is depicted wearing a white gown and blue robe standing on a globe. Her head is often slightly bowed, and her hands are at her sides with the palms up. From her hands are rays of light shooting toward the globe--some reaching their destination and others not. The rays which reach the globe represent graces asked for and received while the rays that don't reach represent "graces for which people forget to ask".
Our Lady of Grace is typically shown to be standing on a serpent as a visual reinforcement of Genesis 3:15 in which God tells the serpent "I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between they seed and her seed: he shall bruise t hey head, and thou shalt bruise his heel" (American Standard Version). Christians interpret that to mean that Mary's offspring, Jesus, will have victory over the devil.
Be sure to ask for graces!!
