Saint Peregrine Laziosi Jewelry and Collectables
Peregrine Laziosi (1260-1345) was originally opposed to the Papal State government of his home in Forli, Italy. In 1283, St Philip Benizi came to Forli to preach and ask for reconciliation. Peregrine encountered St. Benizi and challenged and reportedly struck the future saint. After asking for and receiving forgiveness from Benizi, Peregrine changed his outlook and became a servant to others--especially the poor and ill. Due to a self-imposed penance, Peregrine was constantly standing, ultimately leading to the formation of a cancerous ulcer in his leg. Just before surgery, however, his cancer was miraculously healed by Jesus during a vision. News of the miracle continues to resonate with those suffering from cancer and other illnesses.
