[INVALID] A closet Christian and the wife of Emperor Diocletian, St. Alexandra (d 203) of Rome witnessed the torture and martyr of St. George. She begged the Emperor to let those who believe in Christ free and proclaimed her faith. The emperor was so outraged, he had her imprisoned and sentenced to death. Saint Alexandra was executed along with her three servants and 630 other witnesses who proclaimed their faith when witnessing St. George's martyrdom. Memorial: April 23
